Hoisin - Jalapeno Sauce

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 3 jalapenos, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 quart hoisin sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 small limes, juice of
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, minced

Recipe

  • 1 in a food processor, puree the jalapenos with the sugar.
  • 2 add the hoisin sauce, water, and lime juice.
  • 3 add the minced garlic.
  • 4 puree until fully incorporated.
  • 5 pour into a 2 quart container.
  • 6 allow the sauce to sit for 1 hour to allow the sugar to dissolve, stirring occasionally.
  • 7 if using for wings, place frissee or other lettuce/garnish on a plate.
  • 8 arrange the cooked wings on top of the lettuce.
  • 9 drizzle the sauce over the wings and lettuce.
  • 10 garnish with parsley and chopped peanuts.
  • 11 for salmon or other meats, drizzle sauce and bake/broil as usual for meat chosen.
  • 12 when cooked, baste or drizzle again with small amount of sauce, leaving a small amount for dipping.
  • 13 enjoy.
