Lou's Salsa

Ingredients

  • 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup onion (finely diced)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (4 ounce) can diced green chilies
  • 1 jalapeno pepper (sliced in half & seeded)
  • 1 green pepper (sliced & seeded)
  • 3 tablespoons fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon tabasco sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Recipe

  • 1 combine lime juice, jalapeno pepper, green chilies, green pepper, cilantro, garlic, red pepper powder, tomato sauce, tabasco sauce, salt, sugar, & onion in a blender on low & chop.
  • 2 place in a large bowl.
  • 3 separately, blend stewed tomatoes on low just to chop them, not puree.
  • 4 add to large bowl & mix.
  • 5 best if refrigerated for 2 hours.
