Frijoles Borrachitos (refried Beans W/ Beer)

Total Time: 2 hrs 5 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 2 jalapenos, seeded, stemmed, & minced
  • 1 large red onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (14 ounce) can black beans
  • 1 (14 ounce) can red kidney beans
  • 1 (14 ounce) can pinto beans
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 12 -24 ounces guinness stout
  • salt (to taste)

Recipe

  • 1 in large pan saute onions & garlic until translucent.
  • 2 add jalapenos & saute until lightly browned.
  • 3 add black beans (rinsed & drained), and kidney & pinto beans (undrained).
  • 4 bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 90 minutes. add beer as needed to maintain liquid level.
  • 5 mash & mix with potato masher. add salt to taste & serve!
