Chili Con Carne

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 2 large onions, diced
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 4 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 (28 ounce) can plum tomatoes, diced
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons oregano leaves
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 2 jalapeno peppers, diced
  • 1 cup green pepper, diced
  • 1 cup carrot, diced
  • 1 cup celery, diced

Recipe

  • 1 in a skillet, heat oil and saute the onion and garlic until they are softened.
  • 2 add the meat and brown.
  • 3 add the can of tomatoes and all the seasonings. heat until the mixture is bubbly, reduce the heat and cover. simmer for about 30 minutes.
  • 4 add the jalapeno peppers, green peppers, carrots and celery. simmer for about 20 minutes longer or until the carrots are softened.
