Linguine With Spicy Clam Sauce

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped onions
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon chopped jalapeno chili
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 3 (6 1/2 ounce) cans chopped clams
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 12 ounces linguine, freshly cooked
  • 6 tablespoons chopped fresh basil

Recipe

  • 1 heat oil in heavy large pot over medium heat.
  • 2 add onion, garlic, chili and oregano to skillet.
  • 3 saute until onion is tender, about 6 minutes.
  • 4 add clams with their juices and cream.
  • 5 simmer until sauce thickens slightly, about 4 minutes.
  • 6 add pasta and 4 tablespoons basil; toss until sauce coats pasta, about 2 minutes.
  • 7 season with salt and pepper.
  • 8 transfer pasta to large bowl.
  • 9 sprinkle with remaining basil.
