Fancy Prepared Chiles Or Peppers

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 40 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 24 jalapeno chiles
  • water

Recipe

  • 1 wash peppers and dry on paper towels.
  • 2 cut off tops.
  • 3 pack tightly into shallow pan.
  • 4 broil 5-10 minutes - until skins start to blister and brown.
  • 5 turn 1/3; broil 5-10 more minutes.
  • 6 turn 1/3; broil 5-10 more minutes.
  • 7 let cool slightly.
  • 8 place peppers in large plastic bag(s).
  • 9 let sit to steam at least 1/2 hour.
  • 10 put on surgical gloves if peppers are spicy hot.
  • 11 peel the peppers.
  • 12 carefully remove the innards. as small skinny knife is useful.
  • 13 optional - fill with your favorite cheesy filling.
  • 14 freeze untouching in layers overnight.
  • 15 place in freezer bag for later use.
  • 16 i use the toaster oven - its tray fits 24 jalapenos.
